We understand what people need in a workplace and as a result, received the HRD Employer of Choice for 2022, and now again in 2023. Aurion places an emphasis on not only providing remuneration consistent with industry benchmarks, but also shining a light on work-life balance as well as employee health and wellbeing initiatives.

Remuneration

At Aurion, we strive to make life work better for our customers, our people and our community. Our remuneration policy reflects this mission. We ensure that our team members feel valued and rewarded for their specialty skills and the individual contribution they make to Aurion’s success.

We are able to extend a range of financial benefits to our team such as:

  • Salary packaging
  • Novated leasing
  • New car benefits
  • Preferred superannuation nomination
  • Retail discounts through select outlets
  • Discounted health insurance with our partnered providers

Our annual salary review process is designed to ensure that all roles are assessed against market and industry benchmarks as well as giving consideration to gender and role parity. In addition to our annual reviews, we continue to monitor market trends, and provide salary increases where a market demand or strong individual performance warrants doing so.

Health and Wellbeing

At Aurion, the health, safety and wellbeing of our people is at the forefront. We continue to monitor sentiments relating to wellbeing through our Engagement and Pulse surveys.

Our office in Toowong offers the opportunity for our team members to bring their dog into work with them. Research has shown that having pets in the workplace can improve stress levels, promote a positive team morale and improve performance. We believe that having dogs in the workplace can foster a friendlier and happier workplace, and have seen this play out when dogs are in the office. One of our regular canine visitors Ollie was even shortlisted as an Oz Top Dog finalist in 2022!

Work-life balance

Our core purpose is to make life work better for our people, customers and community. One of the keys to this purpose is ensuring that our people are empowered to balance the demands of their work and life. Through the design of our Hybrid Working Policy, our people can connect through a shared purpose rather than work location. Hybrid working is where our team members can elect to spend part of their time working in the office and part of their time working elsewhere. We want people to feel committed and connected to team, strategy and purpose whilst also feeling trusted and empowered. We have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback relating to this initiative. With our most recent engagement survey, 98% of people responded favourably when they were asked if they felt genuinely supported when electing to utilise our flexible working arrangements.

Career progression

We have structured our teams to allow for the career advancement our people. This can include the opportunity to progress into leadership roles, upskill, and move between different teams and specialties.

As we are an expanding organisation, it is important to allow room for growth in our organisational structure. We have recently had the privilege to provide career progression opportunities for 6% of our entire workforce over the past 3 months.

The number of team members who have chosen to advance their careers with Aurion is reflected in the form of our Service Honour Board. This board recognises our people who achieve 10, 20 and 30 year anniversary milestones with Aurion.  Today, almost 20% of our current team members have reached these significant milestones.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion is a key part of creating an innovative, vibrant and ultimately competitive business for our people, customers and all our stakeholders. Our policies underpin our commitment to creating an environment that is free of discrimination, harassment and bullying. We recently had our second Innovate level Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and was secured by our RAP Working Group which has been in operation for the past 4 years. This group is dedicated to increasing awareness, educating our teams, creating a culturally safe work place and building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.

These are only a select few of the benefits we have available to our team to make life work better. We also have many more to be implemented in our upcoming roadmap. Our people leaders and Diversity & Inclusion Working Group are always coming up with new ideas and initiatives to implement at a future date to increase the support we provide to our team at Aurion.

We are actively recruiting for multiple roles as a result of business growth and expansion with a variety of new roles. Our workforce is rapidly expanding and within the last 12 months the number in our team has grown by over 30%.
