Keeping ourselves and our colleagues safe in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility. When your parent company is employment agency Chandler Macleod with over 20,000 employees on client sites in Mining, Construction and Transport, then Safety at Work becomes a company mantra.

That mantra in the Chandler Macleod Group (CMG) is that ‘We are all Safety Leaders’.

Brett Davis, Chandler Macleod’s General Manager Safety explains that “Our safety performance comes from each and every one of us making daily decisions that exhibit the behaviours of a safety leader.”

“We have halved our injury rates across the group in the past year, which equates to about 144 fewer CMG people requiring medical treatment following a workplace incident. It’s a statistic we should all be very proud of.”

National Safe Work Month
As promoted by Safe Work Australia, October is National Safe Work Month – a time to commit to building a safe and healthy workplace. The theme for this year is think safe. work safe. be safe.

During October the CMG is running a weekly LinkedIn competition for our team members to post on LinkedIn an inspiring sentence on how they uphold any one of our Shared Safety Commitments.

Our shared commitment to safety
To articulate the specific things we do to be the leader across the Recruitment and Staffing industry at large, in July 2021 the CMG announced our Shared Safety Commitments that apply to all our team members, wherever they’re working:

These commitments are bespoke to the Chandler Macleod Group and the recruitment and staffing industry. It articulates what we do to keep our people safe, in complement to our clients and customers, across all CMG companies.
